A leaking exposed pipe in the Klang Valley usually costs RM100–350 to repair, including labour and a short length of replacement PVC or PPR pipe. Concealed pipes inside walls or under floors cost more because the plumber must first locate the leak and then hack and re-tile.

Questions people ask us
Should I switch off the water main before the plumber arrives?
Yes. Close the main valve next to your water meter. In a landed house with a roof tank, also close the tank outlet valve. This stops further damage and does not affect the repair.
Is a leaking pipe the landlord's or the tenant's cost?
It depends on your tenancy agreement. Leaks in building pipework from age or corrosion are usually the owner's responsibility. Ask the plumber for a written report and photos so the cost can be settled fairly.
How long does a pipe repair take?
Most exposed pipe repairs take 1–2 hours. Concealed pipe work that needs hacking and re-tiling can take one to two days.
